Durkan, the hospitality brand of the Mohawk Group, has announced that it renewed its relationship with designer Esther Dunbar-Cullum.
Esther Dunbar-Cullum, considered as one of the most prolific and well-respected carpet designers in the industry, was an original design contributor to the Durkan brand. Dunbar-Cullum’s work is best known for its “fresh colorations and design interpretation”, said to be drawn from a lifetime of exposure to exotic hues and cultural influences.
According to Mark Page, senior director of color and design hospitality, Durkan’s history of leading by design was heavily influenced by Esther Dunbar-Cullum’s past contributions. As such, “we are excited for our customers to see how her artistic talent will further enhance our products. She is an exceptional talent and her high-quality designs speak for themselves.”
Esther Dunbar-Cullum continues to provide rare artworks, as she continues to hand render and paint her collections in lieu of using digital media. This hand-crafted art form adds what is considered a “unique value to Durkan’s products” and, in addition, reinforces Durkan’s “commitment to producing domestically designed and manufactured carpet”.
The collections will be introduced in May.
