Dusit expands dusitD2 brand in Thailand

Asian hospitality group Dusit International added a new resort to its dusitD2 portfolio with the dusitD2 Phuket Resort opening in Thailand.

Located only one block from the island’s popular Patong Beach and within walking distance from the Jungceylon shopping and leisure complex, the new dusitD2 Phuket Resort aims to become a destination in its own right, offering 390 guestrooms and suites. The property also has multiple lifestyle and entertainment outlets, including a Hard Rock Café.

The hotel is currently scheduled for an April 2014 rebranding date.

Dusit International was founded over 60 years by Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui. Today, the company has five brands; Dusit Thani, Dusit Devarana, dusitD2, Dusit Princess and Dusit Residence.

Dusit International Group is planning to further grow the dusitD2 brand this 2014, with eight dusitD2 hotels in the pipeline, including properties in development in California, US; and in Nairobi, Kenya. The dusitD2 Phuket Resort is the first of these hotels to open this year.
