Dusit Thani Brookwater eyes 2015 opening

World Group UK, Maxsen Capital Hong Kong, and Dusit International announced the construction of the largest foreign investment resort in Australia’s and Queensland’s history. When Dusit Thani Brookwater Golf & Spa Resort at First Residence opens in 2015, it will be operated under the flagship brand of Dusit Thani.

The resort, the first on Australian soil for the Thai hospitality brand, will in its first phase offer 168 luxury resort apartments with private plunge pools overlooking the Greg Norman-designed Brookwater Golf Course.

Also included in the first phase of the resort will be the Recreation Club, complete with beach-style lagoon pools, lap pools, water slides, a gymnasium, a bridal center and a wedding chapel; Resort Clubhouse offering four restaurants, a lobby lounge, 24-hour concierge services, an executive club and the brand’s own Devarana Spa; al fresco restaurants and food markets; and meetings and events facilities.

Investment in this first phase of the project is approximately AU$110 million.

Upon completion, the resort will have a total of 520 luxury resort apartments, a tennis stadium equipped to host international tour events, a water park, a retail emporium, an aquatic center designed to Commonwealth Games standards, and a convention center set to host conferences, exhibitions and events of all sizes, amounting to a total investment in excess of AU$550 million.

The development is in Springfield, located within 20 minutes of Brisbane’s central business district and just 30 minutes from the Gold Coast, one of Australia’s major tourist destinations. Additionally, two international airports are within reach of the area.
