Elongated shade: Fliegenbein SL standing lamp by Kalmar Werkstätten

Kalmar Werkstätten announced Garth Roberts’ addition to the family of “Fliegenbein” lamps, a new standing lamp design. Joining the existing table and floor lamp designs, the shorter Fliegenbein SL standing lamp has an elongated shade. Two bent steel tubes merge into a single shaft topped by an elongated shade with splayed legs peeking out from underneath. Made from hand-pleated silk, the elongated shade diffuses the light into a uniform glow, while the cast and polished tubular steel frame is available in light and dark gray or brown matte lacquers.

The Fliegenbein family was adapted from a 1957 design by Julius T. Kalmar.
