Evergreen Marriott unveils eco-friendly renovations

Stone Mountain, Ga. — The Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort unveiled the initial results of the "ForEvergreen Naturally" $10 million ongoing renovation project. Design elements, including wool carpet, a renewable resource and environmentally friendly lighting and water fixtures, were installed to help conserve energy consumption and reduce the overall building cooling and heating demands.
 
Additional renovations include freshly detailed exterior and roof, spectacular outdoor event spaces including the fabulous resort deck and beautiful Lakeside Pavilion as well as fire pits and furnishings of both the indoor pool and outdoor pools.
 
The Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort is the third hotel in the world to be designated a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary for Business" and only one of 55 businesses in the world to receive certification, joining a renowned, worldwide environmental initiative by eco-aware businesses and Audubon International. Additionally, the resort is a recipient of the Good Earth Keeping and Because Green Matters environmental awards.
