Four Points by Sheraton expands portfolio in North Carolina

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced plans to open a Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Durham, N.C.

Four Points by Sheraton Durham Downtown will open in April of 2010 in a prime location in this thriving high-tech hub. Owned by Krishna Hotels and managed by Kelco Management & Development, the newly renovated hotel will offer 159 spacious rooms with comfortable beds, a lively, social atmosphere, and popular extras such as free high-speed internet and bottled water.

Located in the heart of downtown Durham, Four Points by Sheraton Durham Downtown will be just minutes from Research Triangle Park, Duke University, Duke University Medical Centers and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A 15 minute-drive from the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, the new hotel is one block from the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and the American Tobacco Historic District, and close to leading convention facilities and the offices of numerous high-tech companies such as IBM, Motorola, and Oracle. The hotel will also offer convenient proximity to several performance venues including the historic Carolina Theatre and the brand-new Durham Performing Arts Center.

Rooms will also come equipped with 42-inch plasma televisions, spacious showers, free in-room bottled water and complimentary high-speed Internet access.

An ideal location for small to mid-size business meetings or social functions, Four Points by Sheraton Durham Downtown will provide 1,500 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting and conference space. Additional facilities will include a restaurant, outdoor pool, and business center.
