Get Happy: Boss Design's New Chair by Ian Marchant

Happy with sled base

Ian Marchant has created the breakout chair, Happy, for Komac, part of the Boss Design group in the United Kingdom. Made of molded CMHR foam, the chair features a steel wire frame measuring 12 millimeters in diameter, integral glides, swivel mechanism and a polished aluminum, four-star swivel base or a sled base.

Measuring 760 millimeters high, 630 millimeters long and 670 wide, the chair is available in a variety of fabrics (excluding leather).

Following graduation from The Royal Grammar School High Wycome in Buckinghamshire, England, Marchant joined Boss, developing bespoke products, including operator chairs, stacking/conference seating, breakout and fully upholstered seating, alongside creating Formula Furniture in 2003, where he designs freelance for clients including Lyndon Design, MRF and Sky Creations, among others.
