Good shade: Cala and Maranga collections by Marset

Barcelona-based lighting company Marset has launched its new Cala and Maranga collections, created in collaboration with two different designers.

The Cala collection was designed by Joan Gaspar and draws inspiration from the simplicity of the artist’s easel. It is made of a varnished oak structure, a white polyester shade made of PVC-PET laminated film, and a methacrylate diffuser. It is available in three sizes (55 inches, 65 inches, and 77 inches).  The Cala collection is available in suspension, table, and floor models.

Meanwhile, Christophe Mathieu designed the Maranga collection, which takes its name from an imaginary fruit and reinterprets Scandinavian style through its shape. Its shade is made of 32 polycarbonate pieces that fit together and allow slivers of like to shine through. Its bottom provides direct light via an opening fitted with a transparent polycarbonate diffuser. The Maranga collection is available in two diameters (13 inches and 20 inches) and includes floor, table, suspension, and ceiling models.
