Greenbelt Marriott wraps up $1.2-million renovation

GREENBELT, Md. — The Greenbelt Marriott has finished renovations on its meeting space, lobby and fitness center. The $1.2-million renovation expanded shuttle services to a five-mile radius, added an outdoor sports staging area, retooled the property's 10,000 square feet of meeting space and added a 1,900-square-foot fitness center.

The hotel's meeting space includes 14 meeting rooms, the largest of which is the 4,800-square-foot Grand Ballroom. The enhanced space has granted the hotel the opportunity to update its brunch, meeting and wedding packages. The new fitness center includes six treadmills, four elliptical machines and full sets of free weights up to 100 pounds.

The hotel itself is situated between the major metropolitan areas of Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, Md., making it a convenient location for business travelers. It is also just a few miles from the University of Maryland's College Park campus, meaning sports fans and parents might find its location helpful.
