Group behind Willard Hotel and InterCon to pair on new D.C. resort

According to The Washington Post, Carr Hospitality and InterContinental Hotels Group will combine to build a four-star 268-room resort hotel on the city’s Southwest Waterfront as part of a redevelopment project. Developers plan to begin a $2 billion redevelopment of the area in late 2012 to make it a mixed-use neighborhood called The Wharf.
