Hilton Anatole, Dallas finalizes $3 million renovation of fitness center

DALLAS -- September 18, 2008 -- Local residents, as well as guests at the Hilton Anatole Hotel, can now meet their fitness goals in elegant style with the completion and grand re-opening of the Verandah Club, the hotel's newly renovated 80,000-square foot private fitness club, located in the hotel's beautiful 7-acre park.

The Hilton Anatole has recently made a dramatic $57 million hotel overhaul, which will include the addition of a new spa opening later this year.

The Verandah facilities were designed by Precor, the official workout equipment of Hilton Hotels. The $340,000 worth of new equipment include treadmills, elliptical trainers, bikes and step machines all equipped with LCD TV monitors with clear cable access as well as Icarian strength training equipment. In the updated strength training room, guests also have the option of a complete line of free weight equipment.

Verandah Club now features the only Kinesis Movement Training Area in North Texas. Originating in Italy, Kinesis Movement Training is a groundbreaking exercise experience that provides "group personal training combining the benefits of Pilates, Yoga, Core, and extremity strength training." Rather than training one muscle group in isolation, Kinesis trains muscles in integrated groups to work together. Students receive a well-rounded training routine in less than 30 minutes.

Elegant renovation details include beautiful porcelain on the flooring and along the wet areas in the 25-meter indoor lap pool. Completely refurbished locker rooms feature warm earth tones and wooden accents throughout. A co-ed whirlpool, sauna and eucalyptus steam room complete the professional locker rooms.

"We have seen an increase in our membership because of this amazing fitness center transformation," said Scott Lacroix, who has been the Verandah Club Director for 15 years. "The Verandah boasts an elite membership of business professionals and neighborhood residents pursuing personal wellness away from the crowds often experienced at typical health clubs. Members appreciate the grandness in scale and not having to wait to use the equipment, while still enjoying such an intimate and private atmosphere."

Sports options at the facility include two pools with creative water workouts, two outdoor tennis courts, racquetball and squash courts, one-quarter mile secure outdoor track, indoor track, full-court basketball court, croquet court and private boxing gym. Guests can burn maximum calories in the spinning room or participate in the "Muscle Express" or "Women's Weight Workout" to achieve a full-body work-out in a group setting. The Aerobics room features Cardio Kickbox, Latin-based dance moves with the Zumba class as well as a variety of yoga and Pilates classes. Classes are complimentary with membership.

The Verandah Club is located at the Hilton Anatole Hotel at 2201 Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75207. It is open weekdays 5:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. Weekends 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. Corporate memberships are available. More information can be found at www.verandahclub.com or by calling Membership Director Rick Dunnaway at 214.761.7855.
