Hilton opens four properties in Darwin, Australia

Hilton Worldwide introduced its full-service brand, DoubleTree by Hilton, to Australia when it rebranded four Northern Territory hotels. The country's first three DoubleTree by Hilton hotels – DoubleTree by Hilton Darwin, DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade Darwin and DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs – opened alongside Hilton Darwin in the Northern Territory.

Darwin is the capital of the Northern Territory and the gateway to outback destinations, such as the Kakadu National Park and the Katharine Gorge. It has a population of over 120,000. Meanwhile, Alice Springs is located in the “red center” of the Australian continent and is the departure town for visiting Australia's famous red rock Uluru.

The launch of DoubleTree by Hilton in Australia marks the company’s 30th country and sixth continent. Among the amenities that guests will enjoy include the CITRON body care products by Crabtree & Evelyn, 24-hour business and fitness centers, outdoor swimming pools, a range of food and drink offerings, and complimentary Internet access in public areas. As participants in the Hilton HHonors guest loyalty program, all four hotels will offer guests the ability to earn and redeem Hilton HHonors points. Gold and Diamond HHonors members also receive complimentary breakfast.

The 235-room Hilton Darwin overlooks Darwin Harbour, and has outdoor swimming pool and 24-hour fitness center; and six meeting rooms.

 

DoubleTree by Hilton Darwin hotel has: waterfront location; 184 guest rooms including two suites; 10 stories; city or ocean views; an outdoor swimming pool; poolside restaurant and bar; theater-style meeting capacity for up to 80 people; 24-hour room service; a 24-hour business center; complimentary high-speed Internet; and valet parking or complimentary self parking.

DoubleTree by Hilton Esplanade Darwin hotel has: a waterfront location; 197 guestrooms including 34 suites; five stories; city or ocean views; largest outdoor pool in Darwin and bar; meetings capacity for up to 410 theatre style; 24-hour room service; 24-hour business and fitness centers; complimentary high-speed Internet; and valet parking or complimentary self parking.

DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs hotel has: 235 guestrooms and suites; views of MacDonnell Mountain Ranges; three stories; outdoor swimming pool and children's pool, whirlpool and sauna; tennis courts and 24-hour fitness center; helipad; fully solar sufficient; meetings capacity for up to 300 theatre style/400 cocktail; and 24-hour business center.

Hilton Darwin hotel includes: 234 guestrooms and suites; ocean views; 12 stories; outdoor swimming pool; 24-hour fitness center; beauty salon; seven meeting rooms, including a Grand Ballroom; business center; and a restaurant/bar.

Hilton Worldwide's area GM for the Northern Territory, Martin Kendall will have overall responsibility for all four hotels, supported by Carey Osborne, hotel manager for the two DoubleTree by Hilton hotels in Darwin, and Clinton Farley, GM for DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs. Selected renovations are planned to begin in late 2013.
