Hilton Worldwide opens first DoubleTree by Hilton in Queensland

Hilton Worldwide opened the DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns. The 237-room Cairns hotel, formerly a Holiday Inn, occupies a waterfront location on the Coral Sea in the city of Cairns. The hotel also marks the fourth DoubleTree by Hilton in Australia, and the 400th hotel in the brand’s global portfolio.

DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns is located at 121 The Esplanade, approximately four miles from Cairns International Airport and half a mile from Cairns’ CBD center. Cairns itself is the gateway to some of Australia’s tourism experiences, including the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest.

The hotel incorporates an open-air rainforest garden with a barramundi pond. Each of the 237 Cairns hotel rooms are modern and spacious, and offer floor-to-ceiling city, mountain or water views. Guests have a choice of 161 double-double rooms, 75 king rooms and one king one-bedroom suite.
