Holiday Inn Sherwood Park - Conference Center opens in Alberta, Canada following $6M renovation

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) opened a new 258-room Holiday Inn – Sherwood Park - Conference Centre hotel in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Located in the heart of the business district in Sherwood Park, just off the Yellowhead Trail, the hotel opens following a multi-million dollar investment in renovations by AUM Hotels Group.

The hotel is within walking distance of popular restaurants and a short drive to Northlands, Rexall Place Arena, Elk Island National Park and local shopping outlets. Additionally, it is attached to the area's central landmark, Millennium Place Sportsplex.

This hotel is among the over 1,200 properties worldwide which represent the new face of the brand. The Holiday Inn brand family's $1 billion global brand relaunch is the largest project of its kind in hospitality history. This new hotel will have all elements of the relaunch, including a contemporary image with emphasis on arrival and welcome services, guestroom and guest bath comfort.

In total, more than $6 million was invested to renovate this property, giving it a modern and fresh look. The hotel’s design was described as warm and trendy. 

The 195,000-square-foot property at 2100 Premier Way boasts a Royal Ballroom with two balconies and a private outdoor terrace. The design includes business-focused necessities, such as an ergonomic workstation, free high speed wireless Internet access, and complimentary newspapers. Guests can also take advantage of 17 meeting rooms encompassing over 22,000 square feet, a new pool and a well-equipped fitness center.

Guest beds are made using white bedding with pillows that come in two comfort levels: "soft" and "firm." The bathrooms include a multifunctional showerhead, as well as a signature shower curtain with curved rod, and Bath & Body Works amenities. Guest rooms feature queen or king-sized beds, with modern décor including new carpets, bathroom countertops and furniture. The Jacuzzi Suites and Presidential Suite have a fireplace in the sitting area.

For dining, guests may visit Bistrou 2100 restaurant, bar and patio.

The Holiday Inn Sherwood Park - Conference Centre hotel is owned by Prem Singhmar and operated by AUM Hotels Group, and is franchised by an affiliate of IHG.
