Hot form: Ciel tables by Oliver Schick

Oliver Schick announced the availability of a small family of side and coffee tables with a form that resembles that of a hot air balloon. Called Ciel, the new family of tables has glass bowls nestled into the steel frames. Made from hand blown glass, the bowls can be used for storing newspapers, magazines and other utensils to keep the tabletop clutter free. The tables are available in two different sizes and two different colors.

German designer Oliver Schick specializes in furniture, lighting and interior design. Born in 1969 in Darmstadt, he studied product design at the HBK - University of Fine Arts and Design in Saarbruecken - before founding his own studio in 2005. Schick now creates designs for such brands as Ligne Roset, Gubi and Skandiform.
