Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo to unveil rooftop garden in 2013

Fujita Kanko revealed a plan to open the Serenity Garden facility at its flagship property, Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, which currently operates as Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Chinzan-so. Fujita Kanko, the owner of the property, is taking over the management and rebranding the hotel as Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo starting Jan. 1, 2013.

Serenity Garden, occupying 16,145 square feet, is on the rooftop of the hotel. The open-air, artificial garden accommodates multiple uses as a wedding and event facility and occasional restaurant.

With a view of Tokyo and the property’s 17-acre Japanese botanical garden, Serenity Garden is expected to be the new Tokyo hot spot for weddings, corporate parties and special events.

Fujita Kanko started a $90-million renovation of the hotel, which is to be completed over the next three years. Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo will offer 259 guestrooms, 12 restaurants and bars and 36 banquet/meeting rooms, including one that accommodates banquets for up to 2,000 guests. The hotel’s other new facilities include Café Foresta, with an open kitchen. Guests can watch chefs prepare desserts.

Fujita Kanko, established in 1955, is a publicly-traded tourism industry corporation headquartered in Tokyo. The company’s subsidiaries include wedding and banquet facilities, high-end resorts, leisure facilities and related services. The company has over 50 properties/facilities including 28 mid-priced hotels throughout Japan in two chains: Gracery Hotels and Washington Hotels.
