Hotel Indigo Chicago-Vernon Hills awarded design recognition

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  VERNON HILLS, IL (March 13, 2009) – Hotel Indigo® Chicago-Vernon Hills  -- the new boutique hotel with interiors that give guests high-style affordable luxury, rest and renewal -- and its design firm,TWP Architecture  of Elm Grove, WI, have received the prestigious Gold Award from the ASID (American Association of Interior Designers) Wisconsin Chapter.  The hotel’s 2008 transformation was headed up by Lisa Blazek ASID, Jennifer Wagner ASID, John Curran and Eric Halbur, all of TWP.

Hotel Indigo Chicago-Vernon Hills is owned by Florida Capital Real Estate Group of Heathrow, FL and managed by  Lane Hospitality of Northbrook, IL under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group .

The stylish Hotel Indigo Chicago-Vernon Hills emerged last year with a contemporary interior redesign that reflects its adherence to tranquility, renewal and elements of nature, and to providing guests with a environment where they can rest and re-charge in comfort.  With easy access to downtown Chicago and O'Hare International Airport, the 100% non-smoking hotel offers a trendy and relaxed atmosphere, top-notch guest rooms and public areas, full service amenities and cutting edge cuisine.

“The Hotel Indigo Chicago-Vernon Hills projects a sense of style without the attitude and guests are wowed when they enter,” said Blazek.  “In transforming the property, our directive was to employ the Interpret Indigo™ design standards by providing Indigo brand hallmarks and at the same time, giving the hotel its own individual, savvy personality.”

With the redesign, the Hotel Indigo Chicago-Vernon Hills has combined affordable luxury with eco-consciousness, instituting aggressive programs to save water, energy and reduce solid waste while also offering the best non-intrusive, high quality, eco-friendly products and services to guests.  The hotel design, management tools, water conservation and energy efficiency projects, as well as climate-change awareness campaigns with associates and guests, all seek to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and tackle the effects of climate change.

The redesign also reflects the Hotel Indigo brand’s unique upscale position in the boutique hotel marketplace.  Hotel Indigo is known as the industry's first branded boutique hotel, artfully combining the conveniences and consistencies of a brand hotel with the design cache and service personality of a boutique at an attractive price.  The “soul” of the brand’s retail-inspired concept is renewal – thoughtful changes that are made throughout the year to keep the hotel fresh, similar to the way retailers change their window displays – that provides even the most frequent guest a unique experience with every stay.  The hotel features renewable elements such as vivid nature-inspired murals, area rugs, plush duvets and slip covers that will change periodically.  Public spaces are transformed seasonally through changing artwork, music and flora.

Additional highlights include:  An innovative, sophisticated entry area with a dynamic wall design that brings the natural “nautilus” trademark curve into play, cradling a signature reception desk.
Backlit water wall sculpture anchored by wood floors to offer guests a sense of environmental belonging, and reflections of nature throughout to fulfill the Indigo Hotel brand’s “high peace to offset the high pace of travel” theme.

All 127 studio suite accommodations, each with separate sitting and sleeping areas, boast hardwood floors, spa-inspired baths, plush bedding, and natural color palettes with soft fabrics.
PHI Bistro  Bar, with a distinctive design and décor, and offering a casual gourmet menu selection and relaxed atmosphere.
