Hyatt Regency Louisville's $5.8M renovation underway

Hyatt Regency Louisville’s renovation is now underway in a $5.8 million transformation designed to update the downtown hotel.

The property began construction on its new front entrance and Stay Fit Gym on November 7. That work precedes larger projects, including a new lobby, front desk, which will both be finished on December 31, and new restaurant and bar, which has an estimated completion date of mid-April, 2012.

The hotel will be closing its doors to the public beginning Sunday, December 18 and will reopen Saturday, December 31.

The hotel’s new restaurant and bar will be named Sway, short for Southern Way, and will offer a contemporary southern atmosphere. Also available is the open-air bar area that look out onto Louisville’s Fourth Street.

Hyatt Regency Louisville is working with local architectural firm Bravura Architects for the front drive construction, and is using FRCH Design Worldwide out of Cincinnati for the interior design.
