Hyatt Regency Monterey opens Regency Club

Monterey, CA – March 13, 2008 – As part of the $55 million renovations begun last year, Hyatt Regency Monterey announces the completion of the hotel's new in-house Regency Club on March 10th, the first Club offering of its kind on the Monterey Peninsula. A convenient and refreshing oasis that combines contemporary style and design evocative of Monterey, Hyatt Regency Monterey Regency Club's spacious business and hospitality center provides additional amenities and features from check-in to check-out to make leisure travel more enjoyable and business travel more efficient.

"The new Regency Club is a space that truly reflects the natural beauty and serenity of the Monterey Peninsula," notes Mark Bastis, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Monterey. "Available as a luxury upgrade with all of our guest rooms or suites, the Club is a sophisticated, comfortable environment for our leisure guests or business travelers seeking convenience and a high level of service."

Superior Service – Hyatt Regency Monterey Regency Club's high-touch, anticipatory service returns leisure to leisure travel and streamlines schedules for busy travelers. The Club's private check-in desk ensures seamless and speedy arrival and departure from the property. Personalized Concierge Services are available to secure dinner reservations at TusCA Ristorante, tickets to the nearby Monterey Bay Aquarium, arrange tee-times on the adjacent Pebble Beach Company's Championship Del Monte Golf Course as well as confirm airline flights and print boarding passes prior to departure. Open from 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. daily, the Regency Club is available to all guests for an additional charge of $80 per day in season, $50 per day during off season.

High-Tech Amenities - Housed in an intimate alcove for addition privacy and noise reduction, the Club features two dedicated 20" flatscreen Sony Vaio computers with high-speed internet access and printing capability on the Club's a three-in-one printer, fax and copier.  High-tech touches include eight lounge chairs outfitted with individual swivel-top oval granite tabletops and built-in pull out connectivity panels wired with internet access inputs and power outlets to accommodate laptop computers.  Readily available to guests in the Club's well-stocked library, classic novels composed by long-time resident and author John Steinbeck, such as Cannery Row and Tortilla Flat, capture Monterey's vivid history. A selection of board and card games are on hand for check-out, while a generous 42" high-definition plasma television provides a quick update on the news or nationally televised sports event. A contemporary design, the vertical wood and glass magazine rack features complimentary daily newspapers such as Wall Street Journal, New York Times, or USA Today, as well as, high-profile magazines such as Cigar Aficionado, Wine Spectator, or Town & Country.

Contemporary Design – Consistent with the redesign elements of the Hyatt's lobby, lounge, restaurants and guestrooms, the Club incorporates warm contemporary design and hues reflective of the beauty of the Monterey Peninsula. Subtle earth tone colors and natural materials inspire serenity and comfort.  Flooring, millwork and accent paneling utilize warm walnut woods; the wall covering and stone accent has been chosen to create a subtle but crisp contrast with the wood. Steps away from Hyatt's lobby, lounge and restaurant as well as convenient access to conference rooms and meetings spaces, the Club's spacious layout provides a perfect respite at any time of day.

Convenient Refreshments - Regency Club amenities include complimentary refreshments at intervals through the day – morning continental breakfast features fresh seasonal fruits and juices, cereals, smoked salmon and accompaniments, muffins and pastries baked in TusCA's kitchen, and espresso from the Club's state-of-the-art espresso machine. Midday snacks offer fresh fruit, cookies, and trail mix, while evening hors d'oeuvres present seasonal vegetable crudite, artisan cheeses, and antipasti of thinly sliced salumi. In addition to beers and top-shelf cocktails, a variety of wines from celebrated Monterey wineries, such as Bernardus, Talbot and Chalone, are available for an additional charge. The Club offers seating for 20 people. Beyond the floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors, outdoor patio seating marked by soft landscaping overlooks Hyatt's pool, provides seating for 16 people.

Setting the Standard on the Peninsula - Begun last year, Hyatt Regency Monterey's extensive $55 million transformation has included the complete renovation of the hotel's lobby, lounge and restaurant, marked in April 2007 with the launch TusCA Ristorante and Fireplace Lounge in April 2007. Extensive renovations to all 575 guestrooms, including 32 suites, and the President's House will be completed in June. The final phase of the resort's multi-million-dollar transformation will be the addition of the tranquil and relaxing 12,000 square-foot spa including a health club and luxurious new spa suites – the only ones of their kind in the market.  This final phase is scheduled for completion by the spring of 2009.
