Caslon launched as an upholstered contract sofa with a polished steel frame. Inspired by the Caslon typeface (now more than 300 years old), it was designed by Brad Ascalon for Swedish furniture brand Mitab. The Caslon collection unites Mitab with an American design studio for the first time. Caslon also marks the first time that New York-based Ascalon collaborates with a Swedish manufacturer.
Swedish brand Mitab develops, manufactures and sells furniture for the contract market. Based in Tranås, a region with a furniture manufacturing history, Mitab is a family-owned company led by the second generation of the Torstensson family.
