IHG to open third Holiday Inn property in South Korea

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) signed the Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo, in partnership with OK Center Development, jointly held by Incheon Development & Tourism Corporation (City of Incheon affiliate) along with TWG Group USA.

Scheduled to open in mid-2014, the hotel will mark the entrance of the Holiday Inn brand into Incheon Songdo – South Korea’s first free economic zone – and its third Holiday Inn property in South Korea following Holiday Inn Seongbuk and Holiday Inn Gwangju.

The 202-room property is located within Songdo Central Park. It is situated above the Central Park subway station, and other attractions within the vicinity include Muui Island, Ulwang-ri, as well as Korean drama sets. It will be within close proximity to the Incheon International Airport, and a 40-minute drive from the Seoul Metropolitan areas. The area will also be further enhanced with medical centers, malls and entertainment facilities, which are all in the pipeline.

The 12-story property offers rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge bar, a multi-purpose ballroom, as well as meeting and function facilities alongside business and fitness centers.

Commemorating its 60th anniversary this year, Holiday Inn currently has 112 hotels and resorts spread across the Asia Pacific, with another 70 to come over the next three years.
