IIG renovates Hilton property in San Bernardino, Calif.

Doubletree by Hilton, San Bernardino
IIG created a boutique style hotel that follows DoubleTree by Hilton design standards.

IIG was hired by DKN Hospitality to renovate a Hilton Hotel in San Bernardino, Calif. DKN tasked IIG to create in Doubletree by Hilton, San Bernardino a stand-alone boutique style hotel while following DoubleTree by Hilton design standards.

According to the design team, the mission was to create an environment that exemplifies a “new style of aristocracy.” The design, therefore, has warm color palettes and exaggerated textures that mimic the San Bernardino Mountains and hot springs.

The original lobby had outdated aggregate columns, as well as old lobby furniture and finishes. In the redesign, IIG made use of the lobby’s expansive windows that now provide natural light. The design firm also used the adjacent outdoor lobby as an extension of the space.
