Inaugural Mirror of the Year competition launched

Electric Mirror has introduced the inaugural Mirror of the Year, with the award to be announced as Best Mirror Design at Boutique Design New York (BDNY) 2011.

Open to anyone, including student, the Mirror of the Year contest is Electric Mirror’s attempt to work closely with the designers in realizing their ideas, according to Electric Mirror president and chief designer Jim Mischel.

“We love working closely with designers to better realize their ideas and serve their needs,” said Mischel. “Mirror of the Year is a great way for designers to become more familiar with our products and create some really cool and unique pieces.”

In addition to the title, one entrant will win a trip to BDNY, with the winning entry to be put on display at Electric Mirror’s booth #3000 at the Jacob K. Javit’s Center from November 13 to 14.

The judging panel will be announced early September. The judging criteria will include overall design, presentation and functionality for hospitality use.

Entrants are invited to submit their mirror designs by August 31. For more contest information, visit mirroroftheyear.com.
