The InterCityHotel Frankfurt Airport completed a €5.2-million renovation that saw changes made to the property’s rooms and public areas.
The modernization of the airport hotel took place in several construction phases. Over a period of 166 working days, 1,721 meters (5,646 feet) of copper piping were laid and 1,327.5 meters (4,355 feet) of electrical cables were installed.
Following the renovation, InterCityHotel Frankfurt Airport’s rooms have a new interior design.
The restaurant and buffet area was also overhauled and now has a fresh new look. The newly designed lounge now leads directly into the cult "JU52" Fliers' Bar.
The hotel's public area now has an added attraction for flying enthusiasts in the form of a photo-art project, called "Himmelskonstrukt," which is a cooperative venture between the InterCityHotel GmbH and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences.
