InterContinental Doha The City opens

 In a move said to bring a new perspective on luxury to Qatar, the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the opening of the InterContinental Doha The City.

The property adds 302 rooms and 58 suites to Qatar’s hospitality sector, as well as an addition of 176 residence suites ranging from one to four bedroom apartments.

InterContinental Doha The City offers six restaurants and two lounges. Strata on levels 55 and 56 is now Doha’s highest restaurant with views and seafood menu; Nai offers traditional Lebanese cuisine; and Prime is the city’s new destination for meat-lovers. The Square is an all-day dining restaurant with cooking stations; Criollo offers handmade chocolate treats; the Lobby Lounge provides snacks and drinks; and Hive is a lounge.

The new hotel also features the InterContinental Concierge lounge.

 

InterContinental Doha The City’s events center offers facilities including a 1,015 square-meter (over 10,925 square feet) pillarless ballroom accommodating up to 950 guests, four meeting rooms and a business center.

Other highlights include the exclusive Club InterContinental lounge on level 45, a place for meetings with complimentary amenities, including WiFi, a business center and a private boardroom. Leisure facilities include a rooftop swimming pool overlooking Doha’s skyline, a health and fitness club, steam and sauna rooms, and male and female whirlpools.

There are 169 InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in more than 60 countries around the world, with an additional 51 hotels in the global development pipeline. IHG has 110 hotels across India, Middle East and Africa, operating under the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites brands. The company has more than 80 hotels in the region’s development pipeline which are due to open over the next three to five years.
