JW Marriott Hotel opens second property in Seoul

Marriott expanded in South Korea with the opening of the 170-room JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul. The hotel is the second JW Marriott to open in Seoul, and is the first hotel in the city to receive LEED Gold certification.

With an urban façade and elegant interior, the property is the first international luxury business hotel in Dongdaemun.

Set in the city’s fashion district, the hotel has views of the historical Dongdaemun or East Gate, one of Seoul’s eight historical gates. Among the property highlights are BLT Steak; Tavolo 24, a casual all-day dining restaurant with live cooking stations; The Lounge; Seoul Baking Company, which serves cakes and pastries from its open kitchen; and the rooftop Griffin Bar.

The hotel also has 10,570 square feet of meeting space and a grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 750 guests, as well as Seoul's first high-definition 98-screen media wall.
