JW Marriott San Antonio to expand waterpark, meeting spaces

JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa announced details of a $16-million expansion to both its River Bluff Water Experience and its meeting/convention space. Along with a new 13,000-square-foot pavilion area for indoor and outdoor function space, the project will expand the six-acre waterpark with additional pool, spa, cabanas, two water slides, lounge chair seating and artificial turf lawn space.

The project will commence in September for completion in spring 2016.

The new pavilion, event lawn, surrounding pool and seating areas will offer pre-function and event spaces. The expanded event space will rest into the existing topography and enhance opportunities for open-air receptions. The additional indoor and outdoor venues will allow groups to reserve private spaces while also enjoying the outdoor pools and waterslides. The newly-developed area will be adjacent to TPC San Antonio.
