Kerry Hotel Pudong unveils first hotel ice rink in Shanghai

Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai has become the first hotel in the city to open an outdoor ice rink.

"Kerry Ice" is an over 2,152-square-foot ice rink made from synthetic material, which creates a skating experience 90 percent similar to ice. The ice rink has a capacity of 30 people.

In addition to "Kerry Ice" launched recently, Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai has pioneered several initiatives in a hotel in Shanghai. It was the first hotel in the city to implement a paperless check-in and check-out system and to provide a complimentary minibar in all guestrooms. The property opened the city's first craft brewery (The BREW) and meat aging room (The MEET) in a hotel, and the first restaurant (The COOK) to offer an à la buffet concept (all dishes are made to order in the buffet) and a cheese vault. The hotel was also the first and the only in the city to offer an "Iron Man" zone, which allows triathletes to complete their training needs in one place, and the first to implement a supervised indoor children's playground - the Adventure Zone.

Launched in February 2011 in Pudong, Shanghai with a sister property in Beijing, Kerry hotels are integrated with the surrounding environment in multi-purpose complexes. Extensive sports and wellness facilities, and food and beverage concepts are also available.
