Kettal furnishes Velaa Private Island Resort

Kettal is furnishing the Velaa Private Island Resort in north Malé, in the constellation of islands that form the Noonu Atoll. Velaa Private Island is a new resort in the Maldives.

The chosen furniture collections are Kettal Landscape, Kettal Vieques and Kettal Maia by Patricia Urquiola.

The Prague-based ADR s.r.o. architectural studio, founded by architects Petr Kolář and Aleš Lapka in 1996, served as architect.

Velaa Private Island Resort is the brainchild of Czech entrepreneur Jiří Šmejc. The resort has a mixture of one- and two-bedroom villas, and a smattering of four-bedroom residences spread across a private island part of the southern Noonu Atoll.

All rooms have a dedicated butler and private pool. The biggest room has over 2,260 square feet of living space, and their pools measure 646 square feet.

The property has a Teppanyaki restaurant located in a 37 foot tower and a golf academy designed by Spanish professional golfer Jose Maria Olazabal. There is also a wine cellar.
