Leo A Daly names Walter Geiger as VP and design principal

Washington, D.C.--Walter E. Geiger, AIA, SARA, joins international architecture, planning, engineering, interior design and program management firm Leo A Daly as vice president and design principal for the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
 
Geiger brings more than 29 years of leadership experience in architecture and design to the firm. He has provided design, planning, program management and business development services for various project types such as large-scale mixed use, commercial retail, entertainment and hospitality both nationally and internationally.
 
With many high-profile clients including Walt Disney Imagineering, Universal Studios, International Speedway Corporation, Buena Vista Corporation and Pinnacle, his portfolio consists of various projects including the Disney Village Marketplace in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Thornton Park Central in Orlando, Fla., Emeril Lagasse at Universal Studios City Walk in Orlando, Fla., The St. Joe Company’s Pier Park in Panama City, Fla., and the World Center of Racing Hall of Fame in Daytona Beach, Fla.
 
Notable among his international portfolio include projects such as Universal Korea Resort at Songsan Green City in South Korea, Eighth Wonder’s Harry’s Island and Ocean Planet in Singapore, Beihai Silver Beach Redevelopment District in China, Parque Amazonia in Brazil, Sail Island in Saudi Arabia, Bay City in Japan and the Renaissance Doha City Centre West Hotel and Commercial Office Towers in Qatar.

Geiger holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, as well as both a Masters of Architecture and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In addition to being published in many trade publications, Geiger has been a guest speaker at Harvard University, the Florida Retail Summit and the Fifth Annual Global Link Symposium in Tokyo.
 
A member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Urban Land Institute and a fellow of the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA), Geiger has received numerous project and service awards from AIA, SARA, Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc. and the Building Owners and Managers Association International.
 
Geiger joins Leo A Daly from Morris Architects in Orlando, Fla., where he served as a principal and director of design for more than 19 years. Previously, he served as founding principal and president of his firm Geiger & Associates in Baltimore, Md.
