Marcel Wanders designs Iberostar’s Grand Hotel Portals Nous

Iberostar will open its five-star property on the island of Majorca in May next year.

Currently under construction, the Grand Hotel Portals Nous will be situated on the Portals Nous cove, near Puerto Portals. It will have 63 rooms designed and furnished to five-star hotel standards.

The building design is the work of Dutch designer Marcel Wanders.

Grand Hotel Portals Nous will also be environmentally sustainable. Key elements will include a curtain wall system that will allow automated temperature control in the communal areas. There will similarly be a “biospa,” complete with a Turkish bath and sauna, and a sustainable wellness center designed in accordance with sustainable criteria.

When the property opens, it will bring the chain's number of The Grand Collection hotels around the world to 10, and will be the first on the island of Majorca.
