Marriott Hotel Park Lane, London to receive RPW Design makeover

RPW Design announced that the interiors of one of London’s luxury hotels, London Marriott Hotel Park Lane, are to undergo a complete transformation with a new interior design scheme for all 151 guestrooms including five new suites.

RPW’s role in the complete re-positioning of the five-star hotel, housed within a Grade II listed property right in the heart of London’s Mayfair, will also include the redesign of the lobby, executive lounge and meeting rooms. Work is due to be completed by September.

The London Marriott Hotel Park Lane’s makeover is being eyed to bring out the historic building’s intimate character, with “townhouse” inspired spaces that will offer a more residential feel and interventions such as replacing the traditional “counter” style reception desk with two seated desks enabling the delivery of a more personal service. The two sets of stairs leading from the main entrance to the reception area will also be replaced with a single central stairway and additional informal seating.

The new guestroom concept marks a departure from the traditional corporate hotel room towards a high end “home from home” design. The new guestroom layouts all have entrance lobbies enhanced by a soft pastel color palette of white, dove grey and shades of lavender. Materials such as leather, taupe silk, solid wood and marble will be used throughout.
