Matthew Rolston, Dakota Development, Avenue Interior Design update Martha Washington Hotel

Los Angeles-based sbe is scheduled to open The Redbury Hotel in New York City in the first quarter of 2016. The CIM Group recently purchased the Martha Washington Hotel located at 29 East 29th St, and brought on sbe Hotel Group to manage the existing 256-room property to the largest Redbury Hotel, in collaboration with photographer Matthew Rolston. sbe Hotel Group also brought The Redbury Hotel New York into membership of Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

Rolston is teaming with the sbe’s development arm Dakota Development and Los Angeles-based Avenue Interior Design on the hotel’s redesign. The Redbury New York will incorporate elements of the “Tin Pan Alley” into the property's design.

Marta, Union Square Hospitality’s existing restaurant concept, will remain open on the hotel’s ground floor. The restaurant has an open kitchen with two wood-burning ovens and an open-fire grill. The property will also share amenities with sbe’s SLS Park Avenue hotel that’s scheduled to debut this summer. There will also be shared meetings and events spaces.
