Melia Nassau Beach starts $19M phased renovation, plans early 2016 completion

Meliá Nassau Beach, a Meliá Hotels International resort, began phase one of a $19-million renovation plan, expected to be completed by November. The resort on Nassau's Cable Beach will remain open throughout the redesign.

Renovations throughout the entire Meliá Nassau Beach property are expected to be completed by early 2016. Upon completion of the renovations, Meliá Nassau Beach will be the only upscale all-inclusive resort in Nassau's destination resort, Baha Mar.

Once the first phase of the redesign is complete, the Meliá Nassau Beach will have 694 guestrooms offering modern décor and a private patio or balcony. In addition, the hotel will introduce guests to THE LEVEL, a service by Meliá Hotels & Resorts offering exclusive experiences, select room categories, a private pool and beach area, a separate check-in area in THE LEVEL Lounge located upstairs from the main lobby and preferred reservations for restaurants and other activities.

Meliá Nassau Beach currently has three dining options, including Aqua, offering Italian fare; The Market Place, an open-kitchen buffet style restaurant; and O'Grille, offering a casual beachside ambiance. As part of the redesign, the terrace at The Market Place will be expanded to exude a more Caribbean feel.

Meliá Nassau Beach will add five signature eateries. The hotel's fourth floor will house Cilantro, Nikkei, and The Black Anguss. Additionally, gastro bar Estavida, will be opened.

For children, the Kids & Co. facilities and amenities will be upgraded during renovations, while a Kids & Co. guestroom category will also be introduced.

From the lobby to the pools and landscaping, additional, property enhancements include the transformation of the existing concierge desk into a lobby bar and, a redesign of the hotel pools and outdoor landscape.

Meliá Nassau Beach is situated on a 1,000-foot stretch of white sand along the Atlantic Ocean on Nassau's Cable Beach.
