A Ramada hotel in Tallahassee, Fla., that was shut down more than four years ago could soon be reopened as a Radisson after a Minnesota-based company filed permit requests with the city to transform the property at North Monroe and Interstate 10, WTXL reports.
The unnamed developer is proposing a 186-room Radisson Hotel and Conference Center. The main building would be renovated and a fifth floor added to the east wing of the complex. It currently has four floors. Of the 186 rooms, 110 rooms will be newly constructed; the remaining 76 would be renovated.
In documents filed with the city, developers estimate it could take up to 12 months to complete the project.
The current building was shut down in January of 2010. No reason was ever publicly given, WTXL said.
