New York's Algonquin hotel set to close for major renovation

The USA Today reports that the famed hotel will close for three months starting Jan. 1, 2012, for a major renovation. The hotel, which joined Marriott's Autograph Collection a year ago, was sold by former owner HEI Hotels and Resorts four months ago to a division of MassMutual Financial Group. HEI continues to manage the hotel.
