NYC hotel expands suite options

While many hotel rooms are downsizing, the recently opened Conrad New York Midtown—formerly The London NYC—is expanding its guestrooms.

Every one of the hotel's 562 rooms is suite-sized, starting at a minimum of 500 square feet, and has separate living and sleeping spaces. The hotel also has several premium suites, like the Sky Suites (designed as a nod to the nearby Ivy League clubs), the Atrium Suite (inspired by Central Park and housed within a greenhouse-like space with all-glass surrounds) and the split-level Penthouse Suite (decorated with prints from Joan Miro, Alexander Calder and Francoise Gilot throughout its 3,000 square feet).

In partnership with Junket Production, New York-based design firm Stonehill Taylor created four additional shooting suites intended for celebrity use during Hollywood premieres and press tours. Use of these suites includes access to a control room and a green room.

The lobby, meanwhile, displays public art, including a sculpture of Leda and the Swan by Carole A. Feuerman.
