OZO Penang Hotel eyed for 2016

Thailand-based ONYX Hospitality Group announced a new project under its OZO brand in Penang, Malaysia. Located on the edge of the UNESCO heritage site in the center of Georgetown, OZO Penang will be the first OZO property in Malaysia.

Scheduled to welcome its first guests in 2016, the property will offer 132 guest rooms and all such signature offerings as “Talk” meetings rooms, an “O2Go” grab and go outlet, “Eat” for breakfast and grazing all day, and fitness center “Tone.”

OZO is the latest brand from ONYX Hospitality Group, known for its upscale Amari brand in Thailand and the Middle East. OZO's philosophy is all about delivering accommodation for on-the-go guests without all the fuss.

ONYX Hospitality Group’s entry into Malaysia with OZO Penang marks a key step in its development for the OZO brand, and the overall ONYX expansion. Since the OZO brand was launched in 2009, a number of projects have been announced. The first ever OZO property opened in Hong Kong in May 2013, and further management agreements have been signed for projects in Thailand and Sri Lanka.
