Chinese design studio Pinwu launched paper chairs made from bamboo pulp. Called Gù, the chairs are made by craftsmen from bamboo paper making villages near the district of Yuhang. Now available in a variety of pastel colors including gray, yellow, red and green, as well as classic white chair, the shell of the Gù chair rests on four turned beech legs.
Pinwu is helmed by Christoph John, and Jovana and Zhang Lei. Since first meeting in Milan in 2010, they have been collaborating in Yuhang, China, where they develop a collection of products that combine contemporary design with traditional Chinese crafts.
