Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel boasts architecture

Chicago’s Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel has been promoting its modern architecture as a come-on. Designed by architectural firm John Portman & Associates Inc. the property is said to focus on ideas of human response to space, nature and light.

The property has 500 rooms, as well as 49,000 square feet of meeting space and a 100,000 square foot convention center. The ballroom features crystal chandeliers, each ball consisting of two to three pounds of Swarovski crystal.

Among the property features are the entryway, dubbed “Halo,” referencing a Renaissance term for hotels that are “on brand”; and on-property sculptures “The Embrace” and “Chronos” that signify Midwest hospitality and time, respectively. With names like Perfection, Knowledge, Imagination, and Innovation, meeting rooms at the property are said to strive for creativity and inspiration in a comforting environment.

Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel is located at 1551 N. Thoreau Dr., Schaumburg, Illinois.
