Rezidor details Park Inn Hammamet in Tunisia

The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced a new mid-market hotel in Tunisia.

The existing Hotel Riu Park El Kebir will be re-branded as Park Inn Hammamet and open in Q2 2012 following a full renovation. It will be Rezidor's third hotel in the country, following the group's opening of the Park Inn Ulysse Resort & Thalasso and the award winning Radisson Blu Resort & Thalasso hotel in Djerba.

"We are delighted to further strengthen our presence in Tunisia and to come to Hammamet - one of North Africa's first and most popular resort destinations," said Kurt Ritter, president & CEO of Rezidor. "It is a pleasure for us to start our cooperation with the CARTE insurance group which owns the new hotel, and we look forward to further joint projects," added Ritter.

Hammamet is located on the Mediterranean coast, just 60 kilometres away from the capital city Tunis. The new Park Inn Hammamet will feature a 300 metres of beachfront, 4 outdoor and 1 indoor swimming pools. Further leisure offers will comprise 4 tennis courts, 2 kids' clubs and an extensive Thalasso Spa. 4 restaurants - including a Tunisian speciality restaurant - will pamper every palate, while 3 bars will offer the perfect spots for a drink in a relaxed atmosphere. Business guests will benefit from 600 square metres of meeting space and a 500 square metre ballroom.

Besides 273 comfortable and colourful guestrooms and suites the Park Inn Hammamet will also offer 63 villas making it an ideal destination for families or friends travelling together.

Tunisia is one of the top destinations along the North African Mediterranean cost. The country is blessed with year round mild climate, beautiful beaches, distinct cultures and unique landscapes ranging from lush forests to the sands of the Sahara.

Park Inn by Radisson is Rezidor's young and dynamic mid-market brand. Launched in early 2003, Park Inn by Radisson now has more than 145 hotels with 26,500 rooms in operation or under development across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
