Ritz-Carlton to debut in Vienna

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company will open its first hotel in Austria sometime in the second quarter of 2012. The hotel will be located in the capital city of Vienna.

Airlines & Destinations is reporting that an investor represented by Verny Capital owns what will become The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna. Earlier this year, the investor also completed the acquisition of The Ritz-Carlton, Moscow. The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna is located in two 19th century palaces which are listed as culturally protected properties in Austria.

The 202-room hotel will be located on Schubertring, the site of numerous historic buildings built from 1860 to 1890.

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C., of Chevy Chase, Maryland (which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marriott International, Inc.) currently operates 77 hotels in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Caribbean. More than additional 30 hotel and residential projects are under development around the globe.
