Ritz-Carlton to open The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto in 2014

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company announced that The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto will officially open its doors on Feb. 7, 2014, with the luxury urban resort that paying homage to the region’s cultural heritage. Yuji Tanaka will be the GM of The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto.

The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto is located as an urban resort on the Kamogawa River, Nijho Ohashi, close to Kyoto’s downtown areas including Gion and Kawaramachi-dori, the city’s retail and entertainment district. The hotel’s guestrooms will offer views of the river and the Higashiyama Mountains.

Juxtaposing modernity and respect for Japanese tradition, the property will incorporate the work of Japanese design houses such as Spin Studio. The architects and designers preserved the traditional Meiji house and courtyard into the architectural structure of the building.

With 136 guestrooms and an average size of 538 square feet for standard rooms, The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto will have some of the largest in the city. It will also have four dining options, banquet and meeting rooms, as well as a spa and other recreational facilities.
