SB Architects designs Mandarin Oriental, Boca Raton

Penn-Florida Companies announced plans for a new Mandarin Oriental hotel and branded residences at Via Mizner, a mixed-use development under construction in Boca Raton, Fla. Located at Camino Real and US-1, the hotel and residences will be completed in late 2017.

SB Architects was selected for the hotel and residential components of the project. According to Scott Lee, president and principal of SB Architects, the design will reflect urban resort living that is influenced by the Mediterranean heritage of Addison Mizner.

Via Mizner will have three towers in Boca Raton's downtown area. Construction of the first residential tower, a 366-unit apartment building, is already under way with anticipated delivery in the first quarter of 2016. The development includes a collection of boutique shops and restaurants, as well as a private club offering social, fitness and championship golf amenities.

Mandarin Oriental, Boca Raton will have 158 rooms and suites, all with ocean or city views, and designed in a contemporary style. The Residences at Mandarin Oriental Boca Raton will be located in an adjoining tower, connected by a sky bridge to the hotel; it will have 100 condominiums.

Mandarin Oriental, Boca Raton will also have a rooftop restaurant with an outdoor terrace and bar affording ocean, golf course and city views. There will also be a lobby lounge, a Mandarin Oriental cake shop, and a club lounge. Banqueting and meeting space will include a 4,500-square-foot ballroom and a variety of adaptable conference rooms.

Other amenities will include the Spa at Mandarin Oriental, fitness center and rooftop pool that will offer ocean views.

The one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom residences will have all of the hotel’s amenities.
