sbe to open SLS Hotel in New York City

Hospitality company sbe announced the acquisition of, and initial development plans for, SLS Hotel New York. Located at 444 Park Avenue, SLS Hotel New York represents the third installment of the SLS Hotels brand, and will be developed in collaboration with Manhattan-based Moin Development.

Slated for a Q3 2013 opening, SLS Hotel New York will feature the works of a collaborative team, including sbe founder, chairman and CEO Sam Nazarian and designer Philippe Starck. Once complete, SLS Hotel New York will feature 190 guestrooms and suites, as well as sbe’s restaurant and nightlife concepts in the lobby and on the property’s rooftop.

Following Starck’s “Dream World” design at SLS Hotel South Beach, his plan for SLS Hotel New York is said to reflect both the core DNA of the SLS Hotels brand and its Manhattan location.

The property, which will be situated within Manhattan’s Park Avenue South corridor, is currently in the conceptual phase, with Starck and sbe Hotel Group planning to announce the design for SLS Hotel New York in the coming months.

Much like its predecessors in Beverly Hills and South Beach, SLS Hotel New York will feature a food and beverage program with a new restaurant concept and an intimate dining and nightlife offering on the rooftop.
