
The slated opening of Shangri-La’s Sanya Resort & Spa, Hainan on 28 September 2014 will mark Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts’ first luxury resort in Mainland China. Located on the southernmost tip of Hainan Island and a 40-minute drive from Sanya International Airport, the 45-acre resort with 340 guestrooms and eight two-story villas commands 180-degree sea and mountain views, and has direct access to a white-sand beach.
The property’s rooms will be characterized by a fusion of contemporary and indigenous designs. All guest rooms feature private balconies with a panoramic view of the mountains or the beach of Haitang Bay.
The eight private villas will be provided with butler-style service and a pool that is embraced by landscaped gardens. There will be an array of guest room features and services, such as in-room entertainment systems, wired and wireless Internet connections, rainforest showers, bathtubs, pillow menus, and signature Shangri-la room amenities.
For dining, Shangri-La’s Sanya Resort and Spa, Hainan, will offer six food and beverage outlets.
CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La overlooks a landscaped garden. It offers a total of 15 appointed suites. The resort will also include a health club with saunas, steam rooms, a gym, and an outdoor deck area.
The resort features a main swimming pool, a lap pool and a dedicated children’s pool. In addition, a jogging path, forest trails, an adventure zone, a kids club, a wet play area, various indoor and outdoor sporting activities and beach games are similarly available.
For events, the property will have a meeting space that spreads across two levels of the resort, including a grand ballroom, and 10 function rooms.
