Sheraton Steamboat Resort & Villas renovated, to debut 56 suites in November

Sheraton Steamboat Resort & Villas in Colorado has announced that the hotel is undertaking an $8.2-million room renovation project, resulting in the completion of 56 new luxury Mountain Suites in time for the 2013-2014 ski season.

As Steamboat Springs' only ski-in, ski-out, full-service hotel, the addition of the studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom Mountain Suites is eyed to bring the Sheraton Steamboat Resort's total room count to 285. The rooms, which were originally intended to be Starwood Vacation Ownership units, are now being completed as suites, offering mountain or valley views.

The Mountain Suites have granite countertops, either mini or full kitchens, washer and dryer, five-piece bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, and Sheraton Sweet Sleeper II Beds. Many of the suites are designed as "lock-offs," offering guests the option to book lodging similar to a high-end three-bedroom condominium, but with all of the services and amenities of a hotel.

The Mountain Suites have a Colorado Mountain contemporary style highlighted by natural stone gas fireplaces. Kitchens with stainless steel appliances, cabinetry and granite counter tops flow into sitting areas where there are custom furniture, complete with built-in outlets. Natural wood accent tables, artwork including log slices and photography collages are included. Soaking tubs, glass-enclosed showers, built-in storage and washer/dryer combos are also available.

In addition to 188 guestrooms, the Sheraton Steamboat Resort & Villas currently has 20 studio, one- and two-bedroom condos, and 21 two-, and three-bedroom Resort Villas, managed by Starwood Vacation Ownership. The hotel is home to five signature restaurants, including Sevens Restaurant, Saddles Lounge, Breezeway Café, Fish Creek Grille (at the golf course) and Bear River Bar & Grill.

The hotel's Rollingstone Ranch Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones II-designed and Troon-managed course, and was named one of Colorado's "Best Resort Courses" in 2011 by Colorado Avid Golfer.

The Sheraton Steamboat Resort has 28,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space themed around the "Seasons of Colorado." With 17 meeting rooms, including the 7,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, the Sheraton Steamboat Resort can accommodate groups of up to 1,000 people.
