Shining through: Double Layer rugs by Nodus

Italian designer Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba launched a series of rugs for Italian rug Nodus that interrupt traditional Persian carpets with new contemporary patterns. The “Double Layer” rugs layer vibrant geometric patterns on top of traditional Persian rug designs. Woven in wool with a 5 mm pile height, the “Double Layer” rugs for Nodus are made using a stencil technique that allows the traditional decorative Persian patterns to show through underneath the new layer of bright geometric pattern.

Rug brand Nodus is a sub brand of Il Piccolo Srl, an Italian custom made furnishing brand. It works with craftsmen in Nepal, Portugal, Pakistan, India, Morocco, Turkmenistan, China and Turkey.
