Sofitel announces Pacific expansion with Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour

International luxury hotel brand Sofitel announced the opening of its first hotel in Auckland, New Zealand. Formerly trading under the MGallery (Accor) brand, Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour has been transformed into a Sofitel hotel.

The brand’s goal is to be present in all of the world’s major cities, with a goal of 150 hotels by 2015.

Situated on the water in the heart of Auckland, Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour is located in Wynyard Quarter, the city's commercial and entertainment precinct. Inspired by New Zealand's landscape, culture and panoramic views of Waitemata Harbour, Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour offers its own pontoon for yachts and water taxis. All bedrooms and suites offer private balconies and floor to ceiling windows boasting views of the harbor, while the hotel’s public spaces also take advantage of the view. The hotel’s casual Cafe 21 Viaduct and gourmet Vie restaurant open onto a waterfront esplanade.

Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour features three meeting venues, including an approximately 2,099 square-foot function space, as well as a professional business center. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, and an 80-car parking lot accommodates guest and visitor vehicles.Sofitel’s luxury day spa offers six treatment rooms with a range of beauty and wellness treatments. Guests can also make use of a sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room, approximately 65.6 foot indoor lap pool, and gymnasium.
