Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development has announced it has appointed Solís Hotels & Resorts to manage the Solís Doha in Qatar, helmed by international hotelier Horst Schulze, chairman and CEO of Solis Hotels & Resorts.
Set to open in 2015, the five-star hotel, the first Solís property in the Middle East, will have 418 guest rooms and suites with a private entrance and elevator for penthouse and royal suites.
Located next to the Qatar National Convention Centre (itself set to open in October 2011), the hotel will feature a spa, three restaurants and an indoor recreational area. Business travelers will be able to choose from a 17,216-foot ballroom, over 17,000 square feet of breakout, pre-function and exhibit space, four board rooms and six meeting rooms, all of which will be furnished with audio, visual and communications equipment.
Developed by Schulze, formerly president, COO and founding member of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, in 2005, Solís is a collection of luxury resorts, hotels and residences. Three other properties include Solis Lough Eske Castle in Ireland, Solis The Palmyra in Jamaica and Solis Sunny Isles in Florida.
